The Neighborhood

The Staalkade is a tranquil dock along the Amstel river. The central location makes it somewhat troublesome to reach by car, but perfect to reach by bike. Just how we like it. You can even dock your boat right in front of the door.

The neighborhood is mostly a residential area, surrounding the Staalstraat, a bike-only street connecting the Munt to Waterloo square. Here, you’ll find several cafés, deli’s and a few small boutiques.

When you need to clear your mind, it’s nice to just take a stroll around, and look the canal houses in all their shapes and sizes.
